Dental Amalgam Separator Solutions

Dental amalgam continues to be removed from existing fillings every day, making effective mercury management an important part of modern dental practice.

EcoCycle supports dental practices with the supply, servicing and recycling of amalgam separator systems designed to capture mercury containing waste before it enters wastewater systems.

In addition to servicing a wide range of amalgam separator brands, EcoCycle offers the ECOASO4 amalgam separator, a versatile universal unit designed to suit a variety of dental suction systems. The ECOASO4 is ISO 11143 certified and provides an effective solution for the collection and management of amalgam waste within dental practices.

Captured amalgam waste is then collected and processed through EcoCycle’s specialist mercury treatment and recycling facilities, providing a complete end to end solution for dental clinics.

Compliance and Safety

EcoCycle operates under EPA licensing and certified management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and AS/NZS 5377. Our Campbellfield facility also holds R2v3 certification, supporting best practice environmental, safety and operational standards.

To help healthcare providers meet their compliance obligations, EcoCycle provides comprehensive reporting and documentation to support internal record keeping and regulatory requirements.

All materials are managed through secure and traceable systems, providing confidence that waste has been handled responsibly from collection through to final processing.

Our Process

Collected materials are processed through EcoCycle’s specialist onshore recovery and treatment facilities.

Dental amalgam waste, mercury containing devices and other hazardous materials are managed through controlled treatment processes designed to minimise environmental risk. X-ray films and related materials are processed to recover silver, while fluorescent lamps and lighting waste are treated through dedicated recycling systems that safely manage mercury bearing components.

Where required, mercury bearing materials can be managed through EcoCycle’s Mercury Retirement Program, including treatment through our mercury conversion facility in Western Australia, providing a secure long term management solution for end of life mercury.

Why It Matters

The decisions made after a product reaches the end of its life are just as important as how it was used. Responsible recycling helps prevent environmental contamination, supports the safe management of hazardous materials and contributes to a cleaner future.

EcoCycle helps healthcare providers manage these materials with confidence, knowing they are being handled safely, responsibly and within Australia.
