Our Approach to Responsibility
Our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) approach reflects the way we operate every day: safely, transparently, and with purpose.
We believe that strong governance, environmental leadership, and social investment create lasting value, for our people, our partners, and our planet.
Our business exists to protect the environment. Every product we recycle helps reduce waste to landfill, recover valuable materials, and minimise environmental risk. But we believe our role goes beyond recycling, we work to educate, inform, and empower communities, businesses, and industries to make better environmental choices. By helping people understand what can be recycled, how it should be collected, and why responsible recycling matters, we’re building habits that protect our environment long into the future.
We continually invest in onshore infrastructure that enables materials to be processed safely and responsibly within Australia and New Zealand.
Through innovation in mercury retirement, lighting recovery, and mercury bearing e-waste processing, EcoCycle is reducing emissions, conserving finite resources, and contributing to the circular economy.
We’re committed to supporting the communities we serve, through education, sponsorship, and direct engagement.
Our partnerships with the Pancare Foundation, Life Education Australia and The Reconnect Project reflect our belief that a sustainable future is built on healthy, informed, and connected communities. We also sponsor a wide range of local and regional sporting clubs across Australia, encouraging active lifestyles and fostering strong community connections from the grassroots up.
Within our operations, we provide safe workplaces, continuous staff training, and opportunities for professional development. Every person at EcoCycle plays a role in creating safer, smarter recycling outcomes for all.
At EcoCycle, governance extends beyond compliance. It is the framework that guides how we manage risk, meet our legal and regulatory obligations, drive continual improvement, and provide confidence to our customers, regulators, employees and the communities in which we operate.
Our integrated Governance and Assurance Framework brings together enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, certified management systems, internal assurance, operational governance and executive oversight across our Australian and New Zealand operations. By embedding these disciplines into everyday decision making, we support responsible, transparent and accountable business practices across every part of the organisation.
Oversight is provided through a dedicated Risk and Compliance function, which leads enterprise wide governance, regulatory compliance, audit, risk management and management systems. Rather than operating as standalone compliance activities, these functions are integrated into our operations to strengthen decision making, improve performance and support long term resilience.
Independent certification forms an important part of our governance framework.
