Australia has a pretty poor record when it comes to battery recycling.
Over 90% of dead batteries, hundreds of thousands a year, end up in landfill.
It just adds to our waste problem and increases the risk of toxic chemicals polluting our environment. It’s also a waste of valuable, reusable resources.
The good news is, when it comes to recycling batteries, nothing could be easier.
We’re Here To Help You With Your Battery Waste
If you generate larger volumes of battery waste, for example more than enough to fill a 2 litre container each year, here’s what to do.
- Fill in our enquiry form or call us. One of our battery recycling specialists will discuss your needs and recommend the solution that’s right for you. For smaller cell-type and button batteries this may just be a large collection jar. Other options are available as required for larger batteries such as car batteries.
- In the case of battery collection jars, a single charge covers delivery, pickup and recycling costs. Bins are charged according to bin capacity (Additional charges may apply outside metropolitan area), less any payment for the scrap value of the batteries. In the case of car batteries, you may end up with cash in hand.
- We deliver the empty collection jars or bins to your door, ready to start collecting your batteries for recycling.
- Once they are full, just give us a call and we will arrange pickup.
How easy is that?
What Happens To The Batteries?
While it’s easy to do your bit to recycle batteries, the actual recycling process is a bit more complicated. It depends on the chemistry of the batteries in question, but there are effective solutions for most types of batteries.
Got Other Waste?
We also recycle other waste such as lighting waste (fluorescent tubes, lamps, etc), e-waste (laptops, mobile phones, computers), and even medical waste like dental amalgam and x-rays.
