The cost depends on the type of separator. There are more than a dozen different separators available from six different suppliers and because of this the price varies.

The overall costs are small in the order of around $2 per day.

Yes we can. Typically the smaller in chair units can be replaced by your own staff members then we can supply a change over unit for you and take the full one away to be recycled.

With the ECOAS04 separator we can change this over for you.

In some cases there will be some minimal down time however we aim to schedule the service at a mutually convenient time to minimise this.

The separator or canister is emptied of it’s content and cleaned. The mercury is retired as per the Minamata convention https://mercuryconvention.org/en

Yes.

Not at the moment.  From 2008 to 2011 Victoria had the Dentists for Cleaner Water program which provided partial rebates for installation of separators to dental practices.  Contact your local ADA state branch for further information.

State/territory and local water authority do not allow mercury bearing wastes to be sent to sewers.  The Australian Dental Association’s Policy 5.15 states: “Amalgam separators, which comply with ISO 11143, should be installed in all dental clinics.”

All locations but some remote areas require special arrangements. We can tailor make a service to meet to your specific situation.

Other companies can do the pickup of amalgam separators and amalgam waste.  You should ensure that they are correctly licenced and that they send the amalgam to our licenced treatment facility.
